Meet the panelists
Donnette Clarens, Senior Managing Director, Newmark Cornish & Carey
Donnette has spend the past 20 years working in commercial real estate, helping technology companies find space and develop strategic growth plans. She focuses her efforts on the SOMA Market, Mid Market, and the South Financial Market. She has built her real estate practice predicated on client goals, ethics, and long-term relationships. Donnette has had great success in assisting both young venture-backed startup companies as well as established growing technology companies locate space in this competitive Bay Area real estate market. A few of her clients include Zendesk, Uber Technologies, Google, and Change.org.
Tamar Draper, Director, Global Workplace Experience, Zendesk
Tamar’s career in real estate, design, construction, and facilities management draws on a broad range of sectors, including tech, legal, television, government, and non-profit. Prior to her current role at Zendesk, she was the head of global real estate and facilities at Airbnb. She’s also the former president of the International Facility Management Association’s San Francisco chapter, and a board director for the Boys and Girls Club of North San Mateo County. Tamar began her college career in architecture at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and culminated her education with an MBA from San Francisco State.
Melissa Hanley, Principal & CEO, Blitz
Melissa performs many roles at Blitz but, primarily, she designs. When she’s not working on projects for innovative local technology workplaces and global retail, hospitality, and product brands, she spends her days managing operations, brand, and project delivery strategy for the studio. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in architecture, and a minor in city and regional planning. At Blitz, she has been privileged to work with some of the most exciting companies and institutions in the world, including Instacart, Comcast, Microsoft, UC Berkeley (GO BEARS!), Zendesk, and Malwarebytes.
Ainsley (Ains) Hill, Senior Manager, Workplace Operations, AppDynamics
Ains has always had a passion for design and organization. Raised by an interior designer and a West Point grad, he grew up with extreme cleanliness and aesthetic perfection. His focus for the past 12 years has been on workplace operations, and with that, he brings a unique perspective on the office design and construction process. Ains ran workplace operations and built offices globally for Zendesk until March. He recently joined AppDynamics and is excited to build out their workplace ops team and assist in helping them determine their new workplace brand.
