Mohawk Group’s Design Studio takes a fresh look at Luxury Vinyl Tile.

NeoCon is fast approaching! We are continuing to preview some of our favorite new products. Let’s see how Mohawk’s Design Studio has worked with new and interesting color palettes for their new line of Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) developed in response to customer requests for hard surface product that goes beyond traditional stone and woodgrain patterns.

What is the name of the product?

Lineate

How will the product impact the workplace?

Lineate is an enhanced resilient flooring material designed for a wide range of contract interior applications. With a wide range of installation possibilities and complex aesthetic, there are wide-ranging possibilities for the use of this material in multiple workplace settings.

How does the product contribute to “new ways of working”?

Companies are increasingly interested in providing alternate spaces to support “new ways of working.” Café and Coffee Bar settings are an inviting, popular environment used to promote employee interaction and collaboration. In those types of spaces, Lineate would present a time saving and cost effective, healthy flooring solution. It’s practical installation methods reduce floor preparation costs because of the forgiving 5mm thickness and higher moisture tolerance. Where there are food and beverages, there are the inevitable maintenance considerations. This product offers a well designed and functional solution.

What was the inspiration behind the product?

Two of the hottest trends in surface visuals are ombre/gradient and striated textile looks. Taking a cue from these inspirations, cool and warm neutrals are combined with on-trend color pops and a linear texture. The color ebbs and flows across the plank to give the illusion of depth on a flat surface.

When will the product be introduced?

NeoCon 2017

What do you think our readers will love about the product?

The oversize 9-by-59-inch planks come in 12 colorways, and The 5.0MM and 20 mil construction are twice as thick as standard LVT which transitions easily with carpet tile. An inherent acoustical inner layer construction eliminates the need for underlayment, which reduces cost and installation time.

Material only cost planned at $2.90 / SF

Lineate has already won awards! We previewed it at HD Expo, and it won a design award in the resilient flooring category.
