DeskMakers’ new Hover system combines the reliability of benching with the ease of height-adjustability.
NeoCon is upon us! Leading up to the show, we’ll be featuring some of our favorite new products. Below, get to know DeskMakers‘ Hover benching system, and stay tuned for more product coverage in the coming weeks.
What is the name of the product?
Hover
How will the product impact the workplace?
Hover provides the benefits of benching — collaboration, openness, and reduced real estate costs — with the benefits of height-adjustability. Of course, other height-adjustable benching systems also provide this benefit, but Hover is unique as the trough system and end-panels are laminate, providing a much larger range of finishes and configurations. Furthermore, the bases are available in 12 different powder-coat finishes, offering further design flexibility.
How does the product contribute to “new ways of working”?
Employees working at Hover find themselves energized by the openness of their work environment and the ability to vary how often they sit or stand throughout the day.
Can you tell a story/give an example of a client who has used the product effectively?
The example we’re most familiar with is our own design and specifying department here at DeskMakers! They’ve been working at Hover stations for a few months now. Most employees seem to stand 25 to 35 percent of the time, and they seem to love it.
Who was the designer of the product?
The product was designed in-house after extensive research with our customers.
What was the inspiration behind the product?
Our customers! We had been successfully selling benching for a few years, but around two years ago we began getting requests from dealers and designers to incorporate height-adjustability into benching setups. Hover was the result.
When was the product introduced?
It was soft-launched at NeoCon last year and immediately redesigned. It was fully launched in April 2016.
What do you think our readers will love about the product?
The design flexibility of being able to combine all the different finishes. We want to give designers and dealers the ability to “wow” their customers.
What is the price?
List price (including base and electrical distribution) ranges from $2,800 to $6,800.
Anything else notable about the product that we ought to know?
It’s gone from zero to about 25 percent of our company’s sales in the last six months.
Where can we find you at NeoCon 2016?

Will the showroom be hosting any special events?
