Anton Andrews

Director of Office Envisioning, Microsoft

As Microsoft’s Director of Office Envisioning, Anton is responsible for inspiring and engaging the division around a long-term vision. He recently redesigned the Microsoft Envisioning Center in Redmond, and previously founded and led the Design Strategy team in Microsoft’s Entertainment Division, with a focus on next generation experiences for Xbox, Zune and Windows Phone.

Whether facilitating hundreds of in-house engineers to rally around a common vision – or working with executives to define it – Anton has maintained a focus on using collaborative design techniques to infect the organizations he is in and bring holistic, human-centered experience thinking to the corporate strategy table.
Anton has a PhD in Biophysics from King’s College London and a degree in Product Design from Central Saint Martin’s School of Art and Design.

Antonia Cadone

SVP, Workplace Strategy, DTZ

Antonia is DTZ’s Head of the West Coast workplace strategy team and practive. She brings more than twenty years of experience and a commitment to excellence in thought leadership to her role as a workplace strategy lead. She and the workplace strategy team create strategic plans to optimize space utilization, create dynamic and flexible workplace environments and “future ready” buildings and portfolios.

Charged with building DTZ’s specialist workplace strategy team in the western region, Antonia works closely with DTZ portfolio management, brokerage and project management leads to deliver superior workplace strategy services to DTZ clients.

Ryan Coonerty

Co-founder + Chief Strategist, NextSpace

Ryan Coonerty is the Co-Founder, Chief Strategist, and cookie expert of NextSpace. He is the once and future Mayor of Santa Cruz, a lecturer in law at UC Santa Cruz and author of Etched in Stone – Enduring Words from Our National Monuments, a book that he will read aloud to NextSpace members on a daily basis, if they would only ask.

Ryan is a Santa Cruz native, and a graduate of the University of Oregon, London School of Economics, and the University of Virginia School of Law.

Frances Dillon

Senior Vice President, Organizational Development, HSBC

As HSBC’s Senior Vice President of Organization Development for North America, Frances is responsible for developing and delivering the regional OD strategy across HSBC’s multiple businesses in the US and Canada. In this capacity she manages a team with diverse roles and responsibilities including driving HSBC’s Employee Value Proposition, People Engagement and Culture initiatives, the bank’s Diversity & Inclusion strategy and all Organizational Design initiatives.

Frances also leads the Talent strategy for HSBC’s Commercial Banking arm. She joined HSBC in 1999 and spent the first 8 years working in the United Kingdom, holding key management positions including Head of Organizational Development, and Head of Lending Operations at HSBC’s subsidiary First Direct.

Scott Doorley

Creative Director, d.school, Stanford

Scott is the Creative Director at the Stanford d.school, where he teaches classes in subjects at the intersection of design and media arts: storytelling & visual communication, improv, and digital media. His interactive installations with the Dacha Art Collective have been exhibited in the San Jose Museum of Art and the Gray Area Foundation for the Arts San Francisco.

Scott has BA in Film from UCLA (‘96), and an MA in Learning, Design, & Technology from Stanford (’06). Scott and Scott Witthoft are directors of the Environments Collaborative at Stanford University’s d.school – the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design. They co-authored Make Space, a resource for designing and creating environments to support creative collaboration.

Gordon Feller

Director, Cisco Consulting Services

As a Director at Cisco Consulting Services, Gordon works with both corporate and public sector leaders worldwide to solve pressing problems in ways that harness the power of emerging technologies.

Feller has advised on economic and technology issues with leaders of multinational companies, cities, NGOs / foundations, and national governments for nearly 30 years. His clients have included World Bank, United Nations, German and Canadian national governments, The Rockefeller Foundation, IBM, Reuters, Metropolis, and United Cities & Local Governments.

Feller advises leaders on how advanced technologies are helping to solve complex problems such as reducing carbon emissions, while developing practical and forward-looking solutions where economics, technology, and sustainability intersect.

Matt Field

Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer, TMG Partners

Matt has more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience, including development, finance, leasing and project management. Mr. Field joined TMG in 1993 and currently manages acquisitions and dispositions, and supports the firm’s development activities. He has been responsible for over $2 billion of acquisitions and dispositions for TMG since 2003. Previously, he was responsible for managing complex entitlement and development projects.

Matt’s prior experience includes work at Sedway Associates and Halcyon Real Estate Advisors. He has a BA in Political Science from the University of Colorado.

Chris Hacker

VP Marketing & Design / Creative Director Global Work Herman Miller, Inc.

In his role at Herman Miller, Chris connects the marketing initiatives of the entire workplace portfolio and oversees integration of the creative efforts across products, communications, and experiences.

Prior to joining Herman Miller, Chris was Chief Design Officer at Johnson & Johnson, where he led the creative teams for brand identity, product and packaging design, retail and facility design, and brand imagery. He also led environmental sustainability efforts at J&J Consumer Companies.

Chris’ passion is to spread an awareness of the power of design and designers in shaping a more sustainable future for business, making the products and materials produced lighter on the planet.

Daria Hodapp

Partner, West Region Talent Leader, Ernst & Young

As the Talent Leader for the West Region, Daria leads a high performing team of business unit operations consultants, development consultants and recruiters, working to support the human resource needs in the West.

With 35 years of experience, she has spent her entire career working with Ernst & Young in the Bay Area. Previously, she worked as a tax partner in Ernst & Young’s Bay Area Technology and Life Sciences practice.

Daria became the Talent Leader for the West Region in 2005. She received her BS at U.C. Berkeley in 1977.

Lori McLeese

HR lead, Automattic

Originally from North Carolina, Lori makes her home in San Francisco, where she hikes amongst the Redwoods, reads all things paper and electronic, goes on slow runs, and makes gingerbread houses. At Automattic she loves working with the people, figuring out all things related to HR.

Josh McLeod

Vice President, Global Corporate Accounts, Regus

As Vice President of Global Corporate Accounts, Joshmanages a team that directly supports over 500 of the largest global companies based in North America.

Josh began his career as a Marine Corps Intelligence Officer where he managed international intelligence support to operational units while deployed to Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. Since joining the private sector, Josh has specialized in sales, operations and general management of business to business shared services.

He has been working extensively with the largest global users of the Regus portfolio as well as progressive workspace strategists over the past 5 years to deliver the most flexible and dynamic workspace solutions available today.

Jeremy Neuner

Co-founder + (R)evolutionary-in-Chief, NextSpace

In addition to being the CEO of NextSpace, Jeremy is also the comedic relief, the tragic hero, and the getaway car driver.

Jeremy began his career as an officer and carrier-based helicopter pilot in the U.S. Navy. He has also worked as a management and strategy consultant in Washington, DC, helping clients create partnerships between the public and private sectors. Before starting NextSpace, Jeremy served as the economic development manager for the City of Santa Cruz.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in business and government policy from Harvard University. But he’s learned the most from playing LEGO’s with his kids. Jeremy tries to live by this rule: take your job seriously, but not yourself. Fun Fact: Jeremy can juggle flaming torches. Cool, no?

Primo Orpilla

Principle, Studio O+A

Primo Orpilla is the award-winning co-founder, with Verda Alexander, of Studio O+A, the San Francisco design firm responsible for ground-breaking workplace designs at Facebook, AOL, Microsoft, Yelp, Levi Strauss, and many other companies.

A leader in the field of “democratic design,” Orpilla’s expansive, open-plan environments – which stress sustainability, accessibility, and careful coordination of function and form – have become a signature look for some of the West Coast’s most forward-thinking tech innovators.

Orpilla and Alexander established their firm in 1991 with an eye to bringing the agility, creativity and speed of execution then prevalent in the Bay Area’s entrepreneurial economy to the offices in which that economy was being hatched. In 2011, Contract Magazine named Primo Orpilla and Verda Alexander Designers of the Year, culminating months of recognition in the international design press.

Meryl Rosenthal

Chief Executive Officer and President, FlexPaths LLC

Meryl co-founded FlexPaths in 2005 to help companies make the culture changes necessary for leaders, employees and teams to successfully operate in agile work environments.

Prior to launching FlexPaths, Meryl spent 20 years in financial services, acting as change agent, integrating affiliate businesses, launching new products and services, and mentoring women. She served as chief-of-staff to the president of New England Financial, a MetLife Company, responsible for strategic planning, communications and growth initiatives as well as co-chairing MetLife’s Individual Business Diversity Committee.

Julien Smith was one of the first podcasters and one of the first users of Twitter. He was among the first, with Chris Brogan, to jump from blogs to book deals with the New York Times bestseller, Trust Agents.
Now, with Breather, he is among the first to take advantage of more emerging technologies.

Kristy Schmidt

Program Manager Workplace Strategy, Autodesk Inc.

In her role at Autodesk, Kristy works closely with the portfolio management and project management teams to deliver superior work environments to Autodesk employees around the world.

Kristy’s focus includes developing strategic plans to optimize space utilization, creating dynamic and flexible workplace environments, workplace transformation and the future of work.

Prior to Autodesk, Kristy worked for 14 years at the Gap where she helped shape the design of both the Gap Inc and Old Navy headquarters buildings in San Francisco, CA. In addition, she helped to re-invent the store concept for Old Navy stores that is now being rolled out to all 1,000 stores.

Kristy received her BS in Interior Design from San Jose State University and is LEED accredited.

Gerard Taylor

Founder of Gerard Taylor Design and Creative Director of Orangebox

Gerard’s vision and strategic direction have contributed to Orangebox growing to a  £35 + million company. He also researches, writes and speaks at conferences worldwide, on the changing workplace.

He recently published Boomers & Millennials for Orangebox, which reports on why the new global economy, the consumerisation of workplace technology, and generations seeing the world differently has resulted in a perfect storm that will require us all to see how we work, afresh.

Scott Witthoft

Designer / Lecturer, d.school, Stanford

Scott’s professional work as an engineer and a designer has focused on understanding and manipulating interactions among systems. As a Lecturer at Stanford University, he teaches classes in human-centered design and storytelling & visual communication.

Scott has a BS in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis (’99) an MS from The University of Texas at Austin (’00), and an MSE in Product Design from Stanford University (’08). Scott and Scott Doorley are directors of the Environments Collaborative at Stanford University’s d.school – the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design. They co-authored Make Space, a resource for designing and creating environments to support creative collaboration.
